Shitting On The Little Guy

Welcome to the first official Idiocracy News report, the honor of the first report will go to a mobile service provider called Sonera. This is something I experienced first hand, since it happened to me.

Well it began when I went to one of their shops to inquire about closing my account with them, as I was changing to another provider. As the salesperson was looking into my account, he noticed that I had two accounts at Sonera. That was new to me, since I have only been using one. Of course I tell the salesperson to close the other one since I have no use for two accounts, this was very simple. Then it occurred to me if I've had two accounts all this time, have I been paying for two accounts. That's just what it was, I had been paying for two accounts for a considerable amount of time. In fact I've been paying for two accounts for 19 months. Then I found out how much I have been over paying, it was over 900€ in total. That's a large amount of money, at least it is to me. I should explain how this most likely began, let me take you back to 2010.

iPhone 4 just had been released and I was excited to get my new iPhone, I had come early to this Sonera store to wait in line to get my iPhone 4. I got in and I got my iPhone 4, of course I had to get a new mobile plan for it. Here is where I think the snafu happened, the salesperson who was servicing me failed to close my old account.

Now back to the present, I start to investigate what had happened. Calling Sonera's billing, they make a reclamation report about my problem. It only takes a few days before I get a call from some person at Sonera, well I talk with her and this is when it got ugly. They start to tell me that it was my fault when one of their employees fucked up 19 months ago, also would the compensate me all that I have over paid. The easy answer is "NO FUCKING WAY", the only thing they offered me first was just to pay my next bill. Like hell that was enough, they owed me over 900€ and they were offering just some shitty deal. Well I wouldn't agree to it, so they bump it up to 200€ after some haggling. Even after that they wanted to just give me credit to my account, fuck that, I wanted cash in my bank account, to which she reluctantly agreed. I thought that was the end of this, that I got some of my money back. Well the next day I get a email from her and within this email, she was taking 123.48€ from the 200€ she promised to pay one more of the over charge bills. I was fucking fuming, like they hadn't taken enough from me. So with this I was left with 76.52€ in hand, this was bullshit. So I emailed a very angry reply to her, the reply that I received stated that I would get 100€ more compensation. So now I was left with 176.52€, still that was pathetic. Well I didn't want to press my luck anymore, but this was the reason why my entire family cut all connections to Sonera.

Well this is the idiotic behavior I and some others have to live with, the big companies that shit all over the little guys. Where the fuck is their customer service, how in the pigs ass are they suppose to keep their customers when they won't own up to their own mistakes. To me over 900€ is a lot of money, but to a big company like Sonera, they spend that much money and more on toilet paper daily. Why couldn't those dumb bitches just pay me off or even offer to give me some phone for free, I would have been happy. This is the world we live in, but we can change it. Don't be silent and let the big companies shit all over you, let yourself be heard.
